We celebrate Daniel’s ministry and the dedicated time he and his family–Amy, Rachel, Jolie, and Henri–have shared with us at Grace Church. Daniel leaves us with the four guideposts that have come to structure our ministry firmly in place: Welcome, Worship, Study, Serve. He leaves us with a congregation deeply rooted in prayer and tutored in the roots of our Anglican traditions. He leaves a legacy of passionate, engaging sermons that teach even as they entertain. Join us if you are able in the Parish Hall after the unified service to recognize the gifts he has shared.
We also celebrate Katheryn’s decision to remain at Grace in her role as Associate Rector. Katheryn will continue to provide much-needed pastoral care and to preside at the 5 o’clock Saturday service. Her gentle wisdom and spiritual depth will provide familiar comfort during our time of transition.
We give thanks to God for the people of Grace and the bountiful ministries they serve. There will be many opportunities to engage in the work of the church in the months ahead. Instead of a single search committee comprised of only a few people, we are forming a Parish Profile committee, a Transition Prayer Group, a Master Planning Committee, and a 150th Anniversary team, to name a few. Look for details on each of these groups in the weeks ahead and decide how God wants you to serve.
November is the month in which we celebrate Thanksgiving. Let us give thanks to God for the bounty that we share at Grace Church.
