Children’s Chapel mirrors the liturgy of the church

DSCF3271Children’s Chapel meets upstairs above the Parish Hall and welcomes everyone who’s graduated from the Nursery up through the third grade.

In Chapel, we mirror the Episcopal Liturgy of the Word by singing a prelude, saying a Collect, gathering an offering, and by praying our thanksgivings and hopes. In place of a Homily, we tell one of the great stories of our Christian tradition, after which the children respond by participating in a time of open art.

The focus of Children’s Chapel is on introducing the history of the people of God, the ministry and resurrection of Jesus, and on introducing the seasons and tenets of the Episcopal tradition. We begin at 9:45 am each Sunday with 15 minutes of music, before moving into the Liturgy of the Word.
